Reading Notes: Illiad - Reading A
Hello again!
We are reading Homer's Illiad and taking some notes. Let's dive into the story.
Agamemnon asked the suitors to be there when the suitor was finally chosen for the bride. What an interesting thing to ask.
Okay, so, so far, Achilles has been extremely righteous. The decisions he's made are all justified and I like that. He has integrity and the only person who has had integrity so far.
Okay! Athena came to Achilles and time stopped. We've seen that in movies before, the first one that comes to mind is Immortals with the guy from Avatar.
Interesting choice for Achilles's mother to grab Zeus's beard when praying to him.
It's very interesting because much of what happened is represented in the movie Troy with Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom, among others.
I'm a big reader, and I usually don't take notes while reading so this is very new to me. I finished the story and I don't have a ton of notes so I'm gonna write some interesting things down that I found while reading.
Hector has integrity and is righteous (?) like Achilles.
I really liked this first part of the Illiad. I'm gonna reread parts of it so I don't miss anything and read the second part tonight.
